Trimmed the 500' ditch in front of property this morning, and then around the perimeter where it borders the woods. Wore jeans to protect my legs, but it was 80 degrees out- I was hot and drenched in sweat after working 1.5 hours. I wear shorts a lot in the summer, but I really should wear pants when doing work like this, as well as bush hogging and being in the woods. Been lucky with ticks, but that's always on my mind. Any recommendations for pants that are lighter than jeans? I have a pair of First Lite nylon hurting pants that are light weight with stretch-they would fit the bill but at what I paid for them (115 bucks on sale), I couldn't bring myself to get them dirty working.
For hot weather I picked up some Dickies 874 Flex last year. I don't think they will last too long but are cooler than jeans.
I wear carhart pants year round. They relax more with age and don’t bother me in the summer. It helps that my employer supplies them. Can’t stand wearing denim anymore.
Though you won't set any fashion statements, I like the zip off/fishing type pants when it's HOT. (but not if you're gonna be going through any briars)
My wife bought me at least 1/2 dozen pairs of Under Armour pants for work. They’re great in hot weather, light and breath well. I’m not sure how they’d hold up to hard work. Search Under Armour golf pant. She finds them on one of those poshmark or whatever apps. For cheap too.
Wrangler relaxed fit cargo pants at Walmart are very cool, thin and comfortable only downside it for heavy work they tear much easier than denim. For a little more durability I’m loving Duluth trading company’s work pants haven’t had them for a summer yet.
