I know a few of you own Rokus. Have you cats checked out the new B/W channel? They play all old black and white stuff on a set schedule, like how nick at nite used to be. I want the Addams Family every night at 7 Central, followed by my Favourite Martian. Captain Video, aka Shazzam, is on right now and Howdy Doody is next. Good stuff.
We have Netflix and an OTA antenna. Cut the cable this summer and now save almost 100 bucks a month. Don't miss it one bit. We get 33 channels and between that and netflix, there's usually something to watch. A few of our channels are sub channels of the main stations. Me TV is my favorite with lots of old programming, Gunsmoke, Batman, Rifleman, that sort of thing. I watch Perry Mason every night while I'm falling asleep, hated that show as a kid. Batman is on tonight! RTV and Cozi channels have decent programs at times too. I kind of miss having DVR, but I'm not going to pay for Tivo.
I need to get an antenna up for IPTV, Create, Fox, and CBS. We are smack at the edge of four markets and so nothing really comes in here.
That's what tvland used to be. I don't know why they had to change. Cant cost much to run those old shows.
Enter your location at this site and they'll tell you what you can get...you might be surprised. http://www.tvfool.com/
No, not really. I had an antenna until this spring when the pole it was on got cut down by a lunatic with a chainsaw.
How does that roku thing work I have one around here somewhere Dish Network gave it to me when they canceled AMC but I had to pay for everything and it ended up being around $3.oo for one tv show. What Im reading here is that its free?
Everything we do with it is free. You add "channels," which are really more like apps, and each channel is either free or pay. Some "free" channels have subscription fees, like netflix, hulu, or amazon prime. There is plenty of free content, though.
We have been thinking about a roku but with the Apple TV and xbox I can't really justify another. Maybe I'll dump the box and look into a roku. I don't use it for games just DVDs and streaming media. Hmm thanks for all the info Jack !
Thanks Jack Im trying to convince the wife that we need to drop the Dish but she cant stand the thought of living without all of her shows. I think I can convince her to swap if I can find most of the shows available for free elsewhere but that seems to be the problem right now.
