July 31, I'm calling it my first of the season. I'm not thrilled about this. 54F. outside, wet, wet, wet. When I finally got home tonight, wife looked at me and said -"..fire..". Well, good luck with that, everything is soaked. Not to be denied, we tossed about 3/4 cord to get to something dry "enough". And so the fire is going.
We were getting close to needing a fire here, but today it got rather hot so it's not any issue anymore.
Sorry Grizz, no pic. Gotta figure out how to do that someday. Imagine a BKK with dirty glass, then an orange flicker behind the glass. That's what it looks like. Plus the crackle of a heating flue pipe. edit- Glad she wanted a fire, it's 58f in here right now.
I am looking forward to our first fire, but we seem to have had a very short summer because it feels like fall.
That's a tough one. I suppose a fire wouldn't be out if the question under the circumstances. All I know here is that the thermostat is on lockdown unless it's hot enough for a/c. My wife would do that, turn the heat on and go back later and turn it off.

I tried to build a fire today. Got more smoke than usual in the house. And now the damm printer won't work. I need help trouble shooting this thing. Maybe the flue to chimney pipe connection isn't quite right?
Brian, you need to just find a nice picture of a fire and use that for the background on the monitor.
I'm not at 24/7 burning yet, but I brought in a few loads to dry out inside. My gut tells me this may be a long burning season.
