You all cut it shorter than 4ft, and still stack in in single rows doncha? So you got face cords, not cords! :)

You got that right. It's just about finding a common language to speak. Some people have more trouble with it than others,'like I said it doesn't bother me but then I always end up asking what length so I know how much they are burning.

Sure - not all face cords are created equal. If I was buying it, you'd certainly want to convert to cords to know exactly what you're getting. I was just kidding with ya :)

I always thought a face chord is 1/3 of a chord, which would mean if it's 4x8 the length pf the splits would need to be 16" to be a true face cord....but then again I have been wrong once before in my life.

Anyway....welcome to the site, but unfortunately you have violated one our rules already!

The new guy buys the donuts!

I am the same way, mine tend to vary from 14" to 18"...I figure at 16" = 3 face = full cord. I scrounge all my wood so I'm at the mercy of the supply at that moment. The people that I sell to (Atlanta area) are transplanted Northerners and want to burn for the look and not to heat their home, so I mostly do face cords.
