Pricey, or a good deal?

 

A good price if they are in fact night crawlers. We use red worms which are much smaller. I am getting them for $80/1000. Now that is cost to the bait store. Double that if you buy them container at a time. The bait store gives me that break because I give his family fish to eat. I offered to pay markup but he said no.

 

If you can catch a fish with a cheaper worm, why use a premium worm? (rhetorical question)

They probably had better sense than me...
I grabbed the first shovel I could get, handle is broken just past the edge ot the picture...

 

That was a fat timber rattler. That same evening, my boss man said he killed one with 10 rattles at his house...

 

I've live trapped and released (illegal only if you get caught) 3-4 of them, across town. That was a few years ago. They were munching on my hostas. Just big vermin! I always keep a tuned eye, in case they return.

It's a beautiful blue sky day in Dixie, started out a cool 45° this morning, warming up to almost 80°, I think.
We stopped by the woodyard long enough to split a few chunks of pecan, cherry and picked some hickory chunks from the bin. Carried a 5 gal bucket of each to my sister for her grill. Spent the evening with her and 2 of her grandsons...
Maybe we can get the rest of the pecan chunks split and in a bin, load up some firepit wood for my coworker to take down to his place on the coast. Then get ready for another work day tomorrow.

Morning all. Overcast this morning that will burn off to brilliant sunshine later. Got our walk in this morning. Cricket is sure enjoying being back on our walks.
Nice to get to the end of the week and have a day of rest.

Yep. Just getting the camper ready for inspection and the maiden voyage.
I went to the men's meeting this morning with a friend and julie is meeting a friend this afternoon for a study.
Weather is nice so gonna wash the camper and truck too. Gonna get my pepper plants in now that the frost warnings are done.

 

Glad Holly stays away from snakes. Lol. She did get another ground hog today.

 

Good afternoon everybody. Mostly cloudy but about 68. Took a ride on the atv. The barn area is pretty dry. Sent a message out to see what their plans are. Gonna be a dry week and even seen temps in the 70s. Probably won't hear back till Monday.
Chaz is working on our gray water line as it needs some repairs.
Burn ban is lifted so bonfire later.

Thank your for asking. We have had funerals for a cousin, two aunts, and my wife’s mother within the last year. The cousin was the youngest, just over 60 years old, from ataxia. The aunts and my wife’s mother were all in their mid to late 80s. We know their suffering is over, but we miss them.

 

Morning. Time for coffee #2. Cool here for this time of year and the wind just won’t let up. The fish are on tilt but we are catching plenty. Everyone have a great Sunday.
