    Hello Fellow Firewood Hoarders,

Following the maple tree that was cut down, i ended up moving it using the power of the creek behind the house! This was a pretty fun challenge, probably wont ever have to do it again tho lol

    Enjoy the video everyone!

Channeling the spirit of the great log drives in the days of yore, eh?
Can't say I've moved wood that way before myself, although last year I did ford a shallow river with a black locust log because... LOCUST! :loco:

"Smarter not harder". Never moved wood like that but have drug/floated out many a deer and bear like that in the national forest. Sure beats going through miles of swamp and tag-alders. It just gets chilly when ya get to the 'thermometer' in September/October :D.

If it works, why not. I did cut a tree in the water once and the bar went in the river to cut.

Yup, water works just fine. All the logging years back up here in Maine, NH, and Vermont was all by log drives. Thanks for the great video!

Same around here. Fish & Wildlife, DNR, and Dept of Ecology would have your head just for driving the truck and trailer in the stream.

If I'm not mistaken, someone feels as though someone else is using this forum as a free advertising platform for their YouTube channel.

Ahh- if it ain't costing something. Why complain about it !.

    To the task at hand.
Yes, I've moved many many millions of board feet of logs and log rafts on saltwater.
Back in the day . we moved all logs from the camps where they were logged to the mills for sawing or chipping. Or booming grounds where they were loaded onto log ship s for export.
I've also logged from the stump straight into the bay.
I've also bucked and split at low tide then like poles the splits into my heavy aluminum skiff to deliver to customers on islands in Sitka Sound.
I love working on the water. Nowadays the devils people have taken over the coast so no one is free to live and work like what is natural.
    I miss it .

I don't know where or when this pic was taken. But the way you use a pike pole is to stab the log with the pike. The hook is used to fish out boom chains , smwire rope straps and swifter cables. Use it like a hand to grab things . Using the hook to pull on a log is a good and easy way to go swimming.

Then please notify the admins of this site if its a problem. If I'm outside of the guidelines then please let me know. This video isn't clickbait, trying to get views on a video where the title is misleading. Its a video 100% about a cool way I was able to move some firewood. But please report it and if Im out of bounds let me know.
