These are getting the sharp shooter treatment...where I can...& where I can’t I gave them a dose of Torsion... They have a very woody bulb/root system...
Yep, just looked it up. That’s probably the culprit.... weird it says it’s edible... I’ve had them for several years.... but I’m getting tired of dealing with them... sounds like I’m on the right direction on dealing with them... Thanks Dave...
IIRC pulling them out works best, but you want to get as much root as possible...it will regrow if broken off at or near the ground level...seems like you have to get down at least 3-4" to have any hope of it not coming right back...and again, IIRC, I think 2-4D spray will take it down too...but I'm sure there are others on here with more recent expertise on dealing with this stuff than me...
Thanks for the ID, We have a lot of those at the back of my yard and behind. The winter birds eat the seeds, now I know what they are.
Not 100% certain, but I’ve always thought it killed the weed. And then whatever seed is waiting to grow will do so. In your case, hopefully it’ll be grass
A good broadleaf spray that doesn't kill the lawn, knocks the stuffing out of dandelions and other broad leaved weeds, and helped take out all the suckering sumac coming up in my lawn after taking out the 2 parent trees is WideMatch.
