The plot thickens. The saw is pristine. I have gone over it and it really doesn't look like it has ever been run. You could eat off the top of the piston. It looks brand new except for a couple cob webs in cracks and crevices.

The guy said it was 3 years old. Well we know how that goes. And I know Husqvarna has a date code in the serial number but couldn't remember how to read it. Well I checked up on it and have found some date stamps on various parts. Anyone want to guess the age?

    2005?

    It's a pre X-torq saw, so it's much older than 2 or 3 years.

The 372 (pre x torq) is a very sought after saw. When ported, some say the best made. I would argue that :( I say a ported 460 is the best saw ever made.

Close week 15 2001. So the saw has been sitting somewhere for 13 years. I think that is cool.

Like I said... Wanna sell it ;)

Great find!! I would check the fuel line and make sure it doesn't have any dry rot. Some saws that sit for a while in the wrong environment will have the lines crumble over time.

Thanks, that was on my mind straight away. Everything looks good, but I will keep an eye on things and dump the gas the guy had put in it to show that it ran.

Did you figure out the black tag date? Dates off the plastic parts are unreliable for several reasons. Tag on the saw looks to be 2003 or 2005. Post a pic of the tag.

That's a great deal!! I paid almost 400 bucks for a well - used pre-xtorque saw several years ago.....

The only problem with the saw you got is you are now OBLIGATED to use it!!!

I seem to recall that you were done buying saws. Maybe I just imagined that.

    In dex's defense.
I know I get really exited for people when find a good deal or buy a new saw and it gets me exited to go and find something myself. I was looking for a 60ish cc pro saw when I spotted the 372.

NICE I knew when u said pre x torque it was older than 3. Still havent seen the pic!! The 372 is simply a beast.

I have a worn out x torque model that will just chew through oak with a 20" bar.

I am... I only wanted 4 saws. The 261 was supposed to be the 4th, but then the 665's came up for sale from KilliansRedLeo. So I HAD to have one of those. And now, KilliansRedLeo has a phenomenal 372 he is building that will be up for auction pretty soon and I seem to NEED it as well.

Not to mention, I still HAVE TO HAVE a 261C-M. So I guess that means my new number is 6.. Yep, 6 saws and I am DONE! ;)
