My nephew who lives a few miles away called me to tell me had limbed and cut up an ash he had girdled and dropped on his property that I could drive to. So I went over after dinner and he gave me a nice load. It is pretty dry already. There are few bonus pieces of mulberry, and some black locust he cut last summer

I also got to try out my new 261c-m for it’s maiden run. Wow, that was satisfying! I like it a lot.

This will be spit, stacked and covered within the next day or two.

sweet, perfect size for the 261. You will feel it find a higher gear when it breaks in and put a full chisel chain on it.

Looks like nice wood...no need to spit on it!  Any pics of the saw? What length bar. Ive owned my 261 for nearly two years and its mt go to saw. Ive run 20 and 16" bars and the latter preferred.
    Nice haul there hovlandhomestead

Mine came with semi chisel safety. If I had been paying attention I would have requested full chisel.
Big saws normally come with full chisel. I don’t even know if they make safety chain in 3/8 .50

Nice score on the wood. You cannot beat that ash for firewood. They make safety chain in 3/8 .50.

Here she is as I bought it with an 18” bar. It came with the green chain, but I will be upgrading.

That is the exact twin of my 261. Love it. My woods has been logged extensively so an 18” bar is perfect for making firewood from the trees the log buyers don’t want.

I asked this specific question when I got my 362 yesterday. The dealer said that all saws come with the safety chain. But you can buy the full chisel for the pro saws if you want. He had them on the wall for sale.

Nice sales pitch. “By a brand new saw and have to by a different chain to get the one you want” then you have extra chain around that you don’t need. Seriously dealers someone buys a brand new saw set it up the way they want it!
