    Beaird Poulan Model 31 saw from around 1965 as near as I can tell from research. Aggressive chain is 7/16" with .404 pitch as sharp as new. Large engine size at 68cc. The saw is in as fine condition as you'll find anywhere, and looks as though it hasn't seen much use. I rebuilt the carburetor a couple years ago and added the new viton fuel lines for long life. Starts and runs and cuts beautifully too. The oiler works like new. Nice deep throaty sound. Louder than you can possibly imagine while running wide open as this design is definitely pre-OSHA. Clearly audible from the next mountain over.
    I have loved owning this saw but now need to pass it on to someone who will appreciate the history and raw power of this beautiful old machine. Thank you. Bob.

    I used to have a 76 Arctic Cat El Tigre snowmobile. That ran 20:1. You could follow the smoke trail to find your way back home on a calm day. :)

    Jon, I told you I thought mine was a little different? After going downstairs? It's the same saw. It was painted black, but the same. The mufflers on these saws were just a small piece of cast aluminum? I don't know why it's even there? Seems they could have made the original cylinder casting with that little piece on it.


    Because that saw you posted is a pristine runner, I kinda want it.. But have Zero need for it.


    I got this one off of Gary at our GTG for $10 or $15 bucks. Gonna be a great Wall hanger..
