It IS huge :faint: It's one of 3 red oak trunk sections I've been putting off dealing with. I'm trying to get all the smaller stuff processed first and out of the way. There will be some nice firewood coming out of those big logs though. I'll probably take a cord of heart wood splits for myself out of those things.

This is the twin that came down on my side of the fence last summer. It was a double oak and one trunk came down on my side, one on his. Here's the one that ended up in my yard, 30" DBH:

Bedroom electrical is roughed in. Need to add a few nailers and insulate and I'm ready for drywall.

I checked in on an elderly neighbor the other day. His truck door was open, wanted to make sure he was okay and also that his battery wouldn't die. I've never seen him outside of his truck before. His house flooded decades ago, he put a metal pole barn over a little camper trailer up higher on his property. That's where he lives. He's older than I realized, crippled with rheumatoid arthritis, and he had on tube socks, generic Tevas with the ball of the foot straps gone. I assume his feet are swollen and got rid of the floppy unhooked straps.

Need to find out what size shoe he wears :sherlock:

Sandles like this: (and yes, it was high 20's* and snowing  )

My cousin just went through that same situation. His wife passed at home about 2 months ago. He told me he was so glad he kept her home. I have to say he had his hands full. Towards the end, he had to get some help from some home care, and later on, hospice. Had she gone into a nursing home, he wouldn't have been able to see her. It was a long haul, but to him, worth it. Right after her passing, he sold their home and bought a truck with a camper on the back of it. He plans to make that his home.

I've been waiting to hear back from the dealer, and they finally called today. I expected to hear results from submitting the warranty claim, but was informed the engine was ordered, already arrived, and they are working on replacing it. Then just like last time, I got gouged by a random seized component. When they tore the engine down two years ago, "the alternator seized" not much I could do besides let them replace it. This time, it was the starter. However, I almost could believe that one, as when I tried to start it, there was no response from the starter.

Sorry about your cousin and his wife.. For us its been going on little at a time for well over a year and a half but for the last 6 weeks there has been a big change and its tuff at times. Dr said Id need hospice for her also near the end also. She also has a bad valve in her heart and dr said that may take her out first. She can still walk some but not long in the house and get out to the car. I dont mind but I do everything for her. When she is gone I got to get it together and go to work quick. I have seen allot of stuff but nothing like this. Its quite something.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. It's got to be really difficult to go through with your SO.
