Ok. I left enough room forthe stump grinder guy that's coming over tomorrow morning. I had to get the big rounds moved out split and moved away from the stump of the big tree. Yeah, I way underestimated that big tree as far as how many cords it would be. I figured 2 cords, but it's probably going to be 3+
I could. But I would have to go to the right side. The furthest left bay is about 4 feet from the corner of the property line. So to go to the right side of the shed and add on, i'd be into my garden. So I'd have to move that. Maybe in the future, but good for now. I was thinking of adding a lean to roof to put the tractor there. The 4' mower deck won't fit in the door of the old garden shed. Wife is takling about getting one of those steel sheds that go up quickly to replace the old garden shed. Our friend bought one last year, right around $400, looks nice and it's easy to put up. The door is wide enough for my tractor to fit even with the mower deck on it. I'll need to get door width dimensions, so maybe a 52-54" ztr will fit through.
Ok, got the trees all taken care of, wood wise at least off the grass. There's a few cart loads left of twigs and bark, etc to pick up off the grass, and some holes to fill in from the tree falling, but my wife said she'll take care of a lot of that. I got it all split, even the wood from the front yard tree that I moved to were I typically process wood. I stacked all but the wood that was from that front tree, I'll probably get that stacked this week after work. Here's where I started this am, from working yesterday. Today was cold, but perfect weather for this. Almost 4 cords in the left bay, for 2022-23. Lots of sticks picked up and burned. Getting that off the grass so I can mow. The lawn is long. I took a break and took Hayden to the dog park. This is one of the dead borers that killed these trees. Got back from the dog park, and grilled, then ate dinner. Then back at it. Stringy ash Last pic, and I had to lighten it up. What I have in the trailer from the front. Ash tree, and the 1/2 cord of elm I have leftover from this year, will easily fill up this shed bay. I suppose I'll need to work on the right bay then.
With that yard you took Hayden to dog park? Did notice he wasn't in any if the pics. How is he with the tractor and other equipment?
Lol. There's other people and other dogs at the dog park, it's great socialization. Yeah, we've got an acre, but he's like 13 months now and while he's pretty good with recall, he's not 100% trained on the e fence, and sometimes get a wild hair. We put him on the tie out, and he's good with that, watching me work. He just lays down on the grass and watched, or chews on a stick.. He's decent with the tractor driving around, but I've only chainsawed with him on the tie out, so he can't get anywhere near the saw while it's running. My wife let him out to "go get papa" at dusk last night while I was running the splitter. No issues, he seems to understand to stay away from equipment.
