Had some logs to move down to the trail. The hillside is a lot steeper than it looks so I didn’t want to process into rounds up there. Also it drops off sharply below the trail into somebody’s back yard and I didn’t want to risk loosing a round over the side.
    Portable winch did well.
Hard to get a decent video while trying to run the winch with one hand. https://youtube.com/shorts/FFfw8iEevIk?feature=share [IMG]

I like the logger hook on your choke. They work real well.

And these were alive and in good shape before the wind took them down recently. I’ve seen a lot worse. Another problem we have here is the ivy is taking over in the woodlot.

I bought some tongs to use with the winch but I’ve only used them a couple of times. The choker works well.

Those long-haired trees probably shed worse than my golden retriever!

It seems the thicker it is the easier to remove as it comes off in pretty big chunks with little effort. Most of the thinner stuff stays on. Doesn’t seem to hit the seasoning if it stays dry.
Once dry it lights easily so makes for a good fire starter.

Same here. I mainly use the log tongs when skidding with the tractor or sometimes when winching with the truck but prefer a choker chain with the portable winches.
