I have a fisher knock off. A very well built (pronounced "heavy") wood stove. Double doors with the screw in/out air dampers on the door. A rear 8" flue connector and fire brick lined combustion chamber (of course). Look at it and everyone sees a fisher stove. This is non-modified and is a PRE-epa stove in great shape. I have way too much "stuff" and need to start unloading it. Thanks
$500 if its nice? Does it have a baffle plate? I know Fishers did not and adding one was a nice improvement!
$300? I'm just guessing based on what I see people asking for old stoves around here, which probably means nothing in your area...
Sounds similar to our Schrader at our previous home, I loved that stove! Except the doors just shut together, no gasket nor channel for a gasket so the wind would take the fire away quickly. Never burned it when we were not there to screw the air intake shut.
Not that kind of stove! I bought it and paid cash for it that I earned from being employed at a steady job. Legal Definition of employment 1 : an activity or service performed for another especially for compensation or as an occupation (just in case anyone isn't all that clear with the "job concept" and being a productive member of society) And, after I worked for and earned the money, I presented the cash to the person selling the stove. And then..... (here comes the good part) ..... I loaded the stove into my truck and hauled it home! I didn't wait for anyone to load it or for anyone to ship it! Isn't that great? It was so easy and fulfilling! Yeah, that's right! All of this took place because I made a conscious decision to always be employed and provide not only for myself, but also my wife and children. Now the best part of this whole being employed thing is, one can also save for the future (like retirement for example). I certainly hoped this helped clear things up on just how to make a living the usual way.
OMG I'm in tears from laughing about "screwy" OMG make it stop. Made husband walk over and read it, he's not dying with laughter like I am. Anyway our Schrader had evergreen trees on the door like Fishers. It looked like this one. It. Rocked! Except our doors were aligned and the trees at one point were silver too.
