Job i was working had this sitting in the yard, soaking wet and stacked tightly together. House had a nice fireplace but was vacant as it was sold. IMG_4739.JPG A few downed trees in their woods and im guessing it was CSS from the May 2018 tornado that hit the area

Neither. Dont know who sold the house (assuming they made the firewood) or who owns it now. I didnt walk up to check out the condition of the the wood, just snapped a quick pick.

Funny how so many folks do that....get one small tree down in the yard, they get it cut up and stacked, then then can't figure out what to do with it. So it sits, covered or not, and rots away. All dressed up and no place to go.

We have quite a few around here.....they are noticed when the wood doesn't move year to year.....must be the pioneering or caveman spirit.

    We call them one-chop-wonders.

I see this way too much around my area. Feast or famine: either they're cutting and splitting only for it to go to rot, or they're burning green wood.

Lots of that around these parts too. Then after it sits for years, gets half rotten, they want to sell it for many American dollars. :loco:

I didnt think to ask about the wood as id only want the log rack brackets, blocks and log hoop. Did get a free wheelbarrow though just by asking  Although they didnt stack in directly on the ground.

It happens a lot around here. Someone has a tree service take a dead/ problem tree down and they are " keeping the wood". They then stack it in rounds and then it sits. Until it rots. Splitting wood is work people...
