Yeah, I definitely will double check the alignment when I put it together tomorrow after work. Got all 3 parts, the 2 couplers and the spider tonight, along with a couple of boxes of 7.62x39 ammo and a dozen roses for my wife, just because. I'll also have a couple of boxes of 9 mm headed my way due to my buddy's connections.
I use a worm gear clamp to align those couplers. Makes it easy. Nice looking hoard ya got going there!
That would potentially help with offset, but not with angular misalignment. For anyone not familiar, here is a good coupling alignment guide...bottom of page 1 defines angular misalignment. Good enough for a weekend, doing it all by myself. I'll need to swap chains on my dolkita, then go after the butt rounds ( )after work early this week. My wife says she'll be calling a stump grinder this week. I hauled 4 trailers decently full of splits and stacked them in the shed. Here's his the shed sits now. I think I underestimated the amount of wood in these two trees. I think the big tree in the back yard will fill this left bay. There's basically 3 rows, which is 3 cords, and 2 open row spots left. I counted the number of splits from the 18" bottom round from the front tree and it made 22 decent sized splits. Here's the total so far. I used the 029s for limbing, and smaller rounds, as well as the 6421. I filled the 029s up with gas and oil twice. I also filled up the 6421 four times this weekend. I filled the splitter once, but that thing sips gas, and I filled you the tractor on Saturday as well. I filled the trailer with 4 heaping loads of branches, and ran both the burn barrel all weekend, and we also had the fire pit on the patio going all weekend as well, burning smaller stuff and knots/ uglies from these two ash trees. I'm bushed.
It made a mega thud, and it was impressive when it dropped. Even the arborist was impressed and he drops trees all the time for work.
Amazingly I wasn't really too sore today. Biceps are a bit sore, but not bad. Taking tonight off will help, plus maybe I can get out of work a tad early tomorrow? Mondays I have huge reports that I own, create and report to the head of sales. Today 4:30 leaving was about as good as it gets.
Bustin' ash. These are biggun's 32" I got though two of these huge trunk rounds, and stacked one on the shed, as well as a number of other rounds that I split. I then hauled another trailer full of branches and twigs and unloaded that. Plus I filled another trailer full of splits from more rounds I split. Those 32" rounds are heavy. I rolled them onto the splitter.
I'm sure I could find what these 32" diameter x 17" tall rounds weigh, as I'm interested in their actual weight. I can tell you it took a lot of effort.
