Got rained out the last three days after only being out there an hour or so, so I was praying I’d have a day without interference today to try and get some wood split and stacked. Ended up splitting and stacking five face cord. Fiskars did all the splitting today. Did some tree trimming around the wood yard, and got my next row of pallets placed for tomorrow. Felt good to have some time outside. Overcast most of the day, but somehow the rain never came:thumbs: Gonna head back out for another session tomorrow. Obviously still on my first pile, but golly there’s a lot of wood. Probably got enough cherry to keep me busy tomorrow before I’m back into oak in my round pile, so I’ll use the fiskars again.
    She’s a long one! 5A41A0D5-DAA3-4BED-81FB-80949F7FE159.jpeg Updated pile #1 pics. 799EDB2B-0EC3-4A83-B6AD-B097295C80FC.jpeg 0ACCBC48-EC2C-4D4E-BF3A-BAAE1465A463.jpeg Little head start for tomorrow:rofl:  1692C427-D801-4064-85AD-4424DDC903F3.jpeg

Haftacut How many rows of wood do you stack on your pallets? Is your wood cut to 16" length?

Yes 16 long. I’ll either stack till the pallets are full or until I’m sick of stacking:hair:

That's a heck of a row you got there, nice work!

I wish it would stop raining here as well. Going on a week of rain, everything is a muddy mess.

Haftacut It looks like you have 3 rows of wood per pallet.

2 rows. Back row is flush with the back of the pallet and Front is flush with the front of the pallet. Allows for some air flow between them.

I also have two rows of splits on my pallets outside. I will use some longer pieces of wood to span both rows to keep them from falling over.

That’s a great idea. Might have to try that for some stacks and do a little research study:yes:

That is a beautiful stack of wood! Also that is a lot of splitting to do by hand but enjoy it as long as you can.
