Best advice I can offer is start chugging Gatorade and rest. Many people find relief from laying on your back, hard floor, chair drawn up to your butt with legs on top of chair seat bent at the knees.
Dehydration is the original cause. Gatorade can help a lot in my experience. Some folks use Pedialite. Have t tried that myself. Good luck

My magic solution is muscle relaxers and my inversion table...muscles are holding your spine out of alignment which aggravates the nerves which in turn causes pain and further spasms.. vicious cycle.. hanging on the inversion table with the muscles relaxed allows the spine to re-align and increases the intervertebral space so your discs can have more room. I’m usually fixed in 36-48 hours.. took years to figure out that solution...

Also, references to ensuring you are hydrated are spot on..

slight twist on that. The muscles are holding the spine out of alignment to protect the nerves from being crushed not to aggravate them. This process begins pain free and I’d bet most people have that happening at many points in their life.
The pain begins when the muscles tire and can no longer do the job of protecting the nerves. Muscle spasms/pain is the first sign.
Willing to bet the inversion table does wonders. Tried a 1970’s pair of moon boots when I was younger. Felt great. Just no way for anyone with a bad back to get in or out of a set of those :)
FWIW I also have a masseuse who can fix those muscles in a jiffy. Walk in like Lurch dragging a leg behind you and after some tears and screams walk out dancing a jig. Good masseuse’s are rare tho.

Sounds like your doing everything you need to. I got a buddy that’s down for the count with a similar sounding injury. He’s getting epidural steroid injections. Unfortunately these things do take time.....something none of us can sacrifice much of. Thanks for the update:yes: Keep hanging in there!

There’s all kinds of satisfying chiropractor videos on you tube, but there’s a guy out of Dallas with quite the following that performs an adjustment called the “ring-dinger” Sounds pretty medical huh?  People come from all over to have him do it. Seems a little “off the grid” but very satisfying to watch. May be some entertainment for the down time jrider

Back is making minor progress. I can stand up fully straight today and can walk almost normally. Not going to do much of anything again tomorrow but I do get to see my regular chiropractor tomorrow afternoon. Maybe by the end of the week I can do something productive but I won’t push it if it’s not ready

Good to see a little progress. I was thinking of my worst back injury today. Pulled muscle happened 20 years ago. Bad lifting technique using my back in the cold. Lifting a barrel full of scrap roofing. Pulled a muscle and was a hurting puppy for a few days. Ex thought i was being a drama queen when i screamed trying to get out of bed. I was walking like Frankenstein.

Amazing what you’re able to do with all the injuries it sounds like you’ve incurred over the years! Sounds like you know your limits pretty well:yes: It’s the finding them that’s the hard part:headbang:

Been to the chiropractor 4 days since Saturday. He has been able to loosen things up quite a bit. I also took prednisone this week and have done nothing but rest. All of that got me thinking I could go cut today so I did. Cut around a half a cord before my back told me to stop pressing my luck. I am now back in my recliner feeing a little dejected I couldn’t do what I wanted but glad I was able to get out and do something.

Smart to know your limits. Bet that felt good to get out today for a while. Which saw were you running? May be a good time to pull out one of your lighter ones if you haven’t already. Takes longer to make your cuts but man those big heavy saws can sure make for a sore back! Glad you’re feeling better with each day:yes:
