I know exactly what you mean. It is disappointing when the second one and all the rest don’t measure up to the first one. I did enjoy these more a few years back when I bought a Cuban Wheel of them. Smoked those up pretty quick. Maybe the baccy was different back then. One thing I keep buying and still can’t love are Connecticut wrappers. They taste like tea to me. I bought some CT sun grown Undercrowns recently and even though it’s a good cigar, the wrapper taste gets in the way. I might have to try them with a cigar holder.
There’s a private sale going on at Cigarbid for Drew Estates Undercrown maduro box of 10. It was $39.99, but it’s up to 42.99. Guess all the 275 at $39.99 got bid on. It’s still a good deal.
Had this one yesterday while at the cottage. I believe it is the last one of a box I bought years ago.
In past years, they were very good. I gave one away years ago and the guy called me up a few days later and said I am having the best cigar I've ever tasted tonight thanks to you! Unfortunately, yesterdays' did not fall into that same category.
I would have thought it would have been better considering the long nap it had. Guess everything is a crapshoot.
I was hoping for the same. but ........... I have been smoking a whole lot less lately....maybe that?
That is a possibility. Sometimes I’ve had a great smoke and it tasted different on the next one even though they were from the same box. Overall, time in the Humi usually does help.
I had to make an early morning run to Menards today. Brought along one of the la traviata maduro. This is number three that I have had and I have come to the conclusion that this is definitely in the top three cigars I have ever had in my life! Hemmingway by arturo fuente is another great one, but I think I do prefer this over the Hemmingway. I'll have to order another box or three before the supply is totally depleted. Why oh why did I wait so long to order and try these???
