It is going to be low key here too. Two years in a row. Not liking it at all. We are all healthy, so can't complain.

Today was just work around the yard. Replaced a red cedar post that was about to snap. I reset an old sign bracket and the bluebird house on it.

Cut some downed limbs and filled the cart with it.

Watched the local turkeys showing off over coffee this morning.

We were home ourselves last year as well. We will likely be going to visit my inlaws like planned tomorrow, but we wont be going in the house. Just an outdoor visit for a few minutes.

Planning to go to my son's place tomorrow for Easter Dinner with all my children and all but one grandchild. Most everyone in the group has been vaccinated. Two that have not live with me so it all the same family. Last Easter was very different. Getting vaccinated has opened up the opportunity for us to get together once again. Most everyone is in health care, or old enough to get vaccinated. No one has been exposed that we are aware of. We will be reasonable about how we contact each other. Looking forward to gathering without all the fear we had last year.

Cut some more on the big beech, and took down a little fencing. Mostly recovering from a very bad week. Some may have seen the post on the prayers thread. I lost a deputy due to a trailer loaded with mulch jackknifed into his side of the highway.

he was a native of England. I have been dealing with family here and overseas. Phone calls with a consulate office, video meeting with London Police, conversation with congressman, and all other sorts.

London Metropolitan Police helped to get a travel exemption from the US Embassy in London to allow family to travel to America. I suspect the embassy relies on them greatly for diplomatic needs.

Deputies are maintaining casket watch 24 hours a day. I am the only boss most have had, so this is the first tragedy for most of them.

decided now was the time to turn off the boiler and get as much firewood production done. It was a nice day to just be in the woods. Only a few calls came in. Tomorrow will be beautiful so I plan to relax if I can. By that I mean working outdoors.

Monday is final planning for the service, and the family arrives from the UK. I have staff assigned to assist their needs. Customs has the heads up that a family of a line of duty death will be coming in. They promise to expedite them through customs, and get them to their gate to Indianapolis.

There is a lot of emotions and labor until the end of day Tuesday.

That is beautiful and tranquil - thank you!

The bike is still sitting in the garage, haven't ridden yet this year.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes for my Birthday!
