It was nice out yesterday. Although the top temp was in the low 60's the sun made it feel warmer. First thing in the morning I straightened out the tent garage cover so I could roll the rest of the iceberg off the tent garage cover - looks like it was the only thing keeping the cover from taking off in Friday nights high winds. The cover was in a ball around the ice as all the edges had come out from under the blocks that were holding them down. Once I got the cover semi straightened out, I walked around under the cover to get most of the water (from rain and meltage) off so the wind could dry it up.

Doesn't look like much compared to the earlier photo, but it has to be 100+ pounds of ice cube. Picture taken after I had straightened out enough of the cover to be able to roll the ice toward the fence (downhill thankfully)

Texted the dude just afternoon that it was all but dry and he came and picked it up. Meanwhile the iceberg will continue melting out at the edge of the yard.

Cleaned the stoves in the late morning. Woke up this morning cold, and figured it was because I had set the thermostat down to 68*, where I normally keep it at 69*. Then I looked at the thermostat and saw it was 66*. Had to laugh at myself because before I was ready to clean the P43, I had hit the "Saver" button to keep it from trying to start up before I was ready. The Saver button takes the set temp down 5* with just 1 button push. When I was done with the cleaning, I was going to push that button again, but it was 68* in the house; with the sun shining so brightly, I was plenty warm and figured I would hit the button later. Apparently later was 4:30 am this morning :emb:

Had the stove off the past few days. Was a nice cool 65 in the house. The new storm system coming in it was at 62 when I woke up so fired it up.

Finding and blocking that major air leak this winter I think will mean reducing pellet usage by close to a ton which is a little unreal...

Had ours off for a couple days, gave it a good cleaning yesterday. Was 70 in the house when I went to bed at 11, got up at 5:15 and it was
    67. Figured as it's supposed to be rainy later on so fired it up.

I shrink film our windows which really cut down drafts/leaks and as the P43 kinda points towards 1/2 of a window, starting last year I hung up one of those heat reflecting film sheets over it. It really does reflect a lot of the heat back and I noticed that we use about 3/4 of a ton less. It's semi translucent but it faces west, that side of yard has lots of trees so it gets dark early in winter so we don't mind it being covered.

YEESSS! Finally after about 10 "you weren't selected" emails I won a Newegg Shuffle today and finally got to order a 5950X. Have had the MSI X570 Tomahawk mobo sitting here since mid-Dec now next week I can finally do my upgrade.

For the uninitiated, to combat bots and all the people using stock trackers for hard to find computer hardware (Ryzen 9 5900x & 5950X CPUs, any new AMD Radeon 6000 series or Nvidia RTX 3000 series video cards) Newegg created their Shuffle, basically a 2-4 times a week lottery for a chance to buy any of the items they have in stock on that day. If selected they send you an email and give you a couple hours to make the purchase of the items you had checked that day. Now I can do the upgrade I had all the other parts for since mid-Dec.

The video card market is so dry over the past 3 weeks I've taken the video cards out of 4 systems I built for the house last year, set the systems to use the integrated graphics and sold themcards for more than I paid for them, even a couple used ones.

They cam out and filled the propane tank the other day. Got the invoice yesterday - $4.12/gal. Not the highest price I've paid, but it has been holding steady at around $3.50/gal the last couple of years. Sure it will be higher in 6 months when they come top it off again.

Glad I only used 62 gallons over the winter for hot water and the pilot light for the boiler. Also, didn't have to turn on the ThermGaurd for but maybe a week or 10 days out of the whole season, so that helped.
