We had a tornado warning (canceled before it expired) just north of us and a possible waterspout was photographed over the north end of Sebago lake yesterday. Here is was downpours and crash boomers.

Today is supposed to be wet and noisey.

Still waiting for my gaskets to arrive, so the stove is still apart. Cleaned some junk up in the garage yesterday so the ceiling repair can be done, materials will be delivered on Wednesday when that is done it is time for some concrete cover up. Hope to have room for my pellet delivery shortly after that.

I was thinking about you when that warning came on. I know you have a safe place to retreat to. Big storm came here, but mostly usual t storm stuff. I was at the state park near you on Saturday. Water was choppy. Don't go out on it anymore.

Yeah, I can retreat to my den's bathroom or walkin closet for some protection. We saw the meso from a tornado that went through parts of Gorham a few years ago, that was close enough for us.

I talked to two of the neighbors last night and got dibs on a hickory, ash, and cherry tree that came down yesterday morning.

I ran it by Scotty awhile back and he said NP. I just wanted to wait until it came through the front door first, Murphy has a thing about following me around sometimes.

    3849808262.JPG 3849808263.JPG Scored a Woodchuck 2900 furnace off C-List for $400.
Needs a blower and a plate welded in the back wall. Otherwise looks like its had little use. Some num-nut I thinx tried hammering in a too long chunk when it was hot and divitted the back. Cracked a bit. Nuttin weld and plate wont fix.
    Goin in the shop.
These units new are around $3K .
    I thinx I stole it.
I missed a 2900 that was in not as good shape/older back in Feb. for $1500. Glad I did.
Also came with about 20' of 8" duct
Some firebrick. I figure about enough to do half the firebox and a plenum.

Part of an old maple came down during the last storm to roll through here yesterday evening that would explain the big boom we heard, it also got the phone line going from the house to the barn on the property next door that is in the process of changing hands. In a bit I'll get the telephone number of the real estate folks and make a call. The closing is this week.

I think if they mow it against the grain with the mowditioner they might be OK. Still going to leave a lot behind and isn't going to rake worth a damm though.

Its downright chilly here this AM @ 51*. I don't think I've ever said that before in July. We've set 3 or 4 records lows this month. Weird stuff.

I'm going to clean up a tree at the neighbor's house after work tonight. I looked at it last night and it is down a ravine and covered in some sort of vine, but I'm pretty sure it is just groundcover and not PI. Not going to be a lot of wood or a lot of fun, but it will look better once it is gone.

"Its downright chilly here this AM @ 51*" ... polar bear weather... perfect...

Had T-storms thrash us last night. Close boomers. Giz finally couldn't shriek anymore tho... all she could do was huddle in a tight ball at my feet and shake. She had to get used to it, and after a half hour she did... kinda sorta calmed down after the booms.

Hey @GrizzlyAdam, any idea why I'm still not getting an alert for this thread?
Came on this morning to find 3 new pages starting from last Saturday with no alerts.
Yep, I have clicked "watch". Then "unwatched", then "watch" again w/o e-mail.
    Still nuttin'.
    Hmmm. Maybe I'm clicking wrong?:D

Again with the crazy weather, the City of Revere (MA) gets a F2 tornado to touch down briefly yesterday morning. The morning news had a map with a concentrated track of severe weather, we never used to get stuff like this. Today it's dry with a high of 78. The temps are way down this summer too. Whats next??

Be thankful it's not "raining men".
    Def. weird weather this year.
Had 2 fires this month, and I'm still confused as to whether they're considered late winter fires, or early winter fires.:fire:
