I see this in general. More ammo availability in most chamberings, just higher prices than typically. So I think it will get better soon.

I actually have seen prices come down a little on some types.

You've got a lot of restraint.

    Today at least.;)

my thoughts exactly. I sure hope the ammo companies are stashing this cash away now because eventually I would think, their sales are going to drop lower than
operating costs and end up being bought out by some private equity sharks and dismembered..

When all these small gun shops start getting all of the ammo deliveries they've been ordering, then they'll see all the overhead in inventory and freak out.

I’m curious to see what things look like at the Wanamaker gun show coming up in April! In Tulsa Oklahoma.
Has anyone else ever been to this?

I bought this for the lady and I a few months ago. Price is a little steeper as we bought it MSRP $550ish I recall. Holy roller does it ever shoot well. The sights are on point and I nailed the bullseye with some loose sandwich bag ammo a friend traded me for some shotgun shells. Whew. I'm not one to pick up optics but the factory irons were just on the money right out of the box. I might just paint them with Hi Viz later...

Didn't shoot much. Time was fleeting and range trips need to be planned well in our situation. Seriously can't wait to go fire off more again. :D 16162533701695360535065754510417.jpg

Hard to like that but I mentioned elsewhere but like simple Federal and Winchester Universal shells are being had for 100+ per hundred packo_O at auction.... In fact, things started clicking when I hit the store with a big W that I thought eventually things will be bad enough that cheap shotgun ammo will high in the demand. I believe this was Summer of last year having thought on it and while you can find it every once in a while now,it's gone quicker than a hot chit.

Hunting ammo is basically nonexistent, you can find turkey loads but at 30 bucks a box for it, its not bought up often. Season for that is soon. Just glad I put some away....

I love the .410 but that ammo price :jaw: at no less than a doll hair per makes you want to reload that cheap lead shot when you can find it. Case-shot and langrage is next. I'm not beside using wax slugs for fun either.....

Yep. I'm deaf by birth but gun fire actually hurts my ears in concussion pressures rather than the noise. I do wear the earphones. Best investment for me and the lady plus the wee one when we're doing our thing. The downside is I listen to music with earbuds and prefer that really loud....some things just don't make sense.

Two 6in and a 12in 3/8 thick from the evilbay, time will tell if they really are AR500.

I knew I could eventually scrounge enough pipe from the scrap pile at the dump but when I went yesterday there was a pile of slip together segments, so the top horizontal and legs are each two pieces which will make transporting handy. They are every bit as rugged as EMT, if not more so.
I had 6pieces of wire rope in a drawer, 12in long and 12 cable clamps that came with some other project that escapes me at the moment, but I'll keep an eye out for chain at the dump too.

Now all I need is some cheepass spray paint from wallyworld to reverse the colors and the whole thing is done at a very minimal cost (it's only going to get shot at anyway:thumbs:)

Vista Outdoors, AKA: Federal, CCI and ATK / Lake City bought Remington Ammo. Vista Outdoors has very deep pockets and seems to want to foster shooting sports. Even in this market they are offering youth programs ammo at pre-panick pricing although it's at a somewhat limited qty compared to previous years. I only say this to point out that hopefully, Winchester can stay out of the hands of an "investor group" AKA: activists group. Unless that group was Palmetto State Amory, they've done a ton through their business model to bring firearm ownership mainstream. They where very close to buying the Remington ammo line out of bankruptcy before Vista stepped in. Bankrupt Remington gets $65m offer for ammo business- and the bidder might surprise you
Palmetto ended up buying a few of the firearm lines:

Domestically, it seems most of the supply chain is in the hands of solid companies.

Imports are another story, that's the only real area the current Executive branch can effect unilaterally. If imports are compromised, I doubt domestic manufacturing would be able to keep up with the demand in the short term. Expanding capacity would take a couple years. Now, whether the Executive branch would risk trade relations with foreign suppliers... that remains to be seen.

Remington ammo is just now being brought back online and that should help calm the market. Hopefully, this will allow people to get back out to the range.

Hopefully Ruger will bring marlin back to quality firearms.
I looked at many the past few years and my friend a avid marlin shooter
Turned down several from the ffl
That had the barrels clocked out of alignment
If extremely poor internal and external fit and finish
One he denied after it arrived was so bad the action didn't work.

Remington tightened up QC on the "Remlin" line the last few years. I have a 45-70 SBL that is pretty decent. Its taken several whitetail here in Ohio, mostly by my oldest son. Although, I've ve seen plenty of poorly assembled models.
