    I love forsythia. It is so spring in colour and timing of appearance. I hope to grab some from Mom's garden this year. I say that every year but this year I should have the time to do it. I don't think of irises as spring bulbs but it looks like they are.

    Wow irises already! Those re my favorite, I collect them to a degree. The mother in law has a purple that is always the first to bloom around here, usually in early turkey season (starts 4-10 this year)... T.Jeff Veal, do you have many iris variations? If so, would be interested in seeing a pic when they flower!

    Yes sir, we have a few varieties. I'll get pictures. We need to dig them up and replant. We have a friend that is in an Iris club, she has lots of varieties.

    if it is WT, it reads to be pretty rare, if non existent, west of the Mississippi in the wild.

    Do these plants have very red berries later on in the season? They almost look like Bunchberry but the flowers aren't quite right. Mom has one in her garden and we always called it a trillium.
