I am usually pretty good at math but I can't come up with same answer twice. Have a gallon can. 2.56 of oil 35:1 Ratio How much gas in gallons.
4 oz of oil to 1 gallon makes 32-1. so I'd just pour in half gallon and go on my business. If I'm reading the 2.56 as oz's of oil correctly that is..
2.56*35 = 89.6 oz 89.6/128 = 0.7 gallons of gas mixed with 2.56 oz of oil will yield a 35:1 mix ratio. 128oz per gallon. I want to know what you are using to measure exactly 2.56 oz of oil?
2.6*36 = 93.6 oz 93.6/128 = 0.73 gallons of gas mixed with 2.6 oz of oil will yield a 36:1 mix ratio.
Why not just go 32:1 that's so close to what you originally are asking about it's moot? And the math is way easier and you don't really need syringes to measure hundreds of gallons
I think his oil container is 2.6 oz. I don’t think he wants to just pour 2.0 oz from the container but rather use it all. That would likely make it MORE difficult. JRHAWK9 ’s math works well. Prob use a little of the mix to get the last of the residual oil from the container
Easy math. Take your fuel in ounces ( gallon is 128 ) and divide by desired ratio and wa-la . Thans how much oil in oz. you need 128 (oz in a gallon ) / 36 ( desired ratio ) = 3.55 oz of oil per gallon
Boy I better learn to read , sorry about that. oz of oil multiplied by desired ratio In this case 2.6 ( oil ) x 36 ( ratio ) = 93.6 oz. of gas
1/2 gallon 36:1 = 1.77777778 oz of oil and i doubt your saw will notice one bit if it was 2 oz. , probably a little left in the bottle or measuring cup anyway.
But, but, .......... just how many tenths of an ounce would you allow for the residual oil that is always left over inside of those danged oil bottles???? Yeah, not a single one of youse guys mentioned that!
