3 loads tomorrow and that will put me at 60 (estimated) cords! Farmer has yet to push the brush I’ve created back off the field, but I’ve seen his equipment going up and down the road, so I know it’s just a matter of time before he’s plowing it, which will signal the end of cutting at that spot. I am going to finish the tree I’m working on then fall one more to the south of it. This will be more than the three loads I plan to take out tomorrow, and I’m back to work tomorrow night for 4 nights and weather coming in so we’ll see what happens. If I can get back there for additional loads the next few afternoons, I’ll try and get all I can. I’m down to finishing the tree I cut down today and then 2 others to finish that edge of the woods. They’re big guns though! For now, im at the mercy of the chisel plows Then splitting becomes the focus.
Still killing it! I'm sure that bar paid for itself many times over. Small cost for doing business. I am in the camp or regularly greasing tips. Is that something you do?
It would be nice if Haftacut would fill us in on what he was trying to say instead of leaving the "3 kids" comment hanging out there
I use the Oregon grease guns, they're not very expensive and handy. I have been greasing the bar tips every time I sharpen the saw. It doesn't take but a minute.
I found another fairly large tree that came down near the side of the road, and today was a great day to add to to hoard.
Can’t beat right next to the road on a beautiful day like that! Nice job Smaug Can’t tell the species in the pics. Whatcha got?
