I'm finally offering up my Stihl 034AV for sale. It's been collecting sawdust on a shelf for awhile now and it's time for it to find a new home.

To the best of my knowledge, this is an early model 034 (not a red switch however) and it has the non-adjustable oiler. Saw has a new piston and ring as of this spring since I scratched the old one doing a tear-down for inspection. I replaced the clutch drum and carburetor several years ago when I first bought it so it will have the large spline drum and Zama replacement carb on it. I still have the original Tillotson carb if the buyer wants it but it has a cracked fuel inlet (plastic) that will need to be replaced. The clutch cover has a small crack in it, visible in the photos, but is perfectly serviceable. Currently the saw is missing 1 of the plastic chain guides which I will replace before the saw ships.

The saw is bone-stock and has all OEM parts on it. It comes with a somewhat ugly but good 20" ES bar and I will throw a good loop of RS chain in with it.

    Asking $275 + shipping from 12566.

Great saw for someone dreading the next cutting season with a low end unreliable box store saw. I bet this one is a peach. Jump quick folks.

What's the deal with the "red switch"?

Some Stihls had a red switch instead of the black one. I don't know of any significant difference however.

Thanks. Was curious since you have the black and I have the red on my 034AV with adj. oiler.

Great saw at a nice price. I would consider this a better "bang for buck" saw than I rehomed.

The 034/036 is one of my favorite saws and probably the best firewood saw made by Stihl. Hands down..

I just got back from my 2nd vacation this week.. I need to generate some funds, otherwise this one will be coming to Ohio. If it's still here by the end of the week, it probably will be.

Like you said, that's just like the one I put the adjustable oiler into. I'm eager to try mine out but haven't found an opportunity yet.

I really like that this iteration of the 034 has the side-access chain tensioner. I half suspect that Stihl intentionally downgraded the adjuster on later 034's to put more space between them and the 036.

    The 036 is 62cc (well, 61.5). The 034 is 56.

    The 034 Super is 62 cc (61.5).

This 034 (56 cc) will still own an 18" bar though.

Maybe MasterMech will trade, but I am pretty sure he looking for a cash only sale.

Yes, it does well with even a 20" bar. But when mine gets back from Tennessee it will be getting a 18" bar. Can't wait to take it for a spin...

Nate it would be a very capable runner. IMO.

It's 56 actually. Plain jane 034, the supers were 62cc.

Sorry guys, looking to sell, not trade this time around.

Gotcha. I'm not up to speed on every model of saw and I guess my google-fu was not so strong. I must have found 034 Super info.

Nate there is a pinned thread in the resources section. I have had it bookmarked long before someone posted it here to refer to about certain saw models.

Just in case it helps, here's my 034AV, also stock except that the original recoil cover has been replaced with one from a 360 and I installed an adjustable oiler in place of the original non-adjustable one.
