That pic i posted was all red oak. Four racks deep. Sold the last of it in January. Pic was from two years ago. Birch is a rare scrounge for me.

ITs not fun going through that, I hear you. You cant really wear thick gloves for firewood or tree cutting because you need the finger articulation. Winter gloves get chewed up because they cant handle abrasive firewood. Those cloth and rubber palm gloves look worthy but they only keep you dry for so long before the rubber wears away and when your hands keep getting snow all over them the back of the hand gets soaked. Hazmat gloves would keep you dry but then have no articulation or insulation. I'd like to find kevlar insulated gloves.
Thanks for watching, I just made a dive into it without knowing anything except a little from a friend who knows about creating content. Otherwise everything is all me, 95% of the work is off camera. It's a wild ride I got onto and strapped in

We have cut about 20 since January, sold a good majority, gave away a lot too. The selling subsidizes the freebies. Gotta enjoy doing it.

Not sure really, There's not much competition, just opportunists looking for money because they can score some wood and they are only looking for side cash, no real passion or commitment, no large inventory. That's what it seems like. There's another company that set up in Toronto to get city money. Don't know much about them. Gotta say things are favourable when there's almost nothing to mention regarding competition! $350 CDN sounds probable. I sell for $400 ($300 US) and my product is no joke. I get another $60 ($45 US) for delivery. If I stack a bush cord, its $50 or $100 CDN to stack in front area or back area of hose, respectively. Its $500 CDN to the island and the ferry for delivery truck is $500 for the ferry. Not much good wood to fetch on the island, being level ground and flood-prone (it almost got flooded FULLY a couple springs in recent years), lots of willows I know at least. Ive been there with my boat a few times but haven't examined the trees.

This was our inventory in July '20. All has been processed, hickory is in a shed, oak has been delivered.
We sold 16.5 cords, gave 5 loads of cull wood away, and helped our neighbor Mike, get close to 2 cords of white oak from a big tree he was given.
We have gotten more in since then. I also work a full time job with OT...
We are just very small potatoes...

To date I've sold 0. I just started CSS last year as I've been able to score some tree service wood and doing some cleaning up around my property. I plan to start selling bundles next month as the weather continues to improve. I have close to 2 cords split and more bucked up ready to split. It will be a small operation to fund the purchase (or reimburse what I already spent on) firewood related toys. :D

Many years I sell around 100-125. Last two years I have averaged a little over 200.
