I think I found the cause for kiddos being stuffy every morning, some worse than others. I was the only one up watching news and she came out from bed sneezing and snotting and even her eyelids were puffy, only an hour or so in bed. We decided I should try her bed for the night to see if I found anything and she took the couch where I set her up with a trash can and tissue clearing her poor lil nose & sinsus up. At first I deep cleaned her room, been running the sanitize cycle on her bedding & curtains etc., told her no perfume or scents of any kind in there and kept up with it. No luck.

Woke up last night to our cat millimeters from my face, his purr and whiskers ( and smell of his breath :zip: ) woke me. Lil bugger kept trying to lick my face, took me 3 time to finally block him and he finally licked my hand and arm instead. Eeeeew.

That HAS to be it. You know what cat allergies are? It's not their fur, it's the coats of saliva that travel around on the fur from grooming themselves. She's not allergic to hauling him around and petting him etc. all day (he doesn't shed much, hypoallergenic), but having straight saliva concentrated by your eyes and nose, I can see that happening. Likely explains some irritated spots on her cheeks here and there over the last few months, that rough tongue on delicate skin.

Turns out she sees it as affection, I get it, we call dogs licking faces "kisses"..... She's trained him to jump, play fetch, and play tag. I hope she can un-train him for face kisses. She was heartbroken to hear she's probably allergic but hopefully being clear in the morning instead of sneezing and blowing her nose is an incentive. Or, I could lock him out of her room at night, but neither she nor him would like that.

We don't have fleas out here but if I were using one I'd toss and get something else.

Not one bit. I read through the whole thing and probably won't think twice about it. They sure do a good job, especially with ticks.

I use advantage II. I get it from the vet. It is in plastic tube. Take one end off and squeeze it on. I go right between the shoulder blades. Put it on once a month. Holly is in tall grass and woods almost on a daily basis. Haven't seen a tick or flea on any of our dogs since since we moved up here 10 years ago. It is expensive.

I use spot on treatments. Pet armour is the one we use on our dogs. Works the same as frontline.
