I’m only a few minutes from Jeff and neither of us are that close to Lakewood...45 minutes or so and I don’t know the cause of the fire but humidity was way too low for controlled burns. Last day for that was Thursday last week. They can probably start burning after some rain this week
Those look like green trees burning, yikes! I've not seen green trees crown, and the one infront of it was incinerated.
I watched the vid with the sound off... so dont know if there was any narration. Was something said about it being a prescribed burn?
All prescribed burns were put on hold Thursday through at least now due to low humidity and high winds.
Do New Jersey fire regs apply to all land holders? I'm specifically asking about federal land... Curious...what were the forecast Rh's and winds?
I can’t answer about federal lands but NJ has one of the smallest %’s of federal land to my knowledge
Yep all good down here! Thanks for checking. As Joe said, we're both about 40mins from where that fire was. It sparked up again for a 2nd day with the extreme low humidity but they were able to get it under control. Thankfully we got some rain overnight last night and our FFS will be able rest easy for a bit. More rain coming thursday too.
