I lost 3 oaks in this area in a storm a few weeks ago. I got started on the top of this one. Pretty sure there are 2 black oaks and a scarlet oak. I also felled the trunk which is the one on the left. Number 2 and you can just see 3 in the background to the left of the stump of number 2. Got a load in the toyota. Got hot after that so I will get back to it in the morning.
Great BTUs A "morning job" in your area now for sure. You need to keep hydrated so you can get it split & drying Looks like some new ones coming up to take it's place
I was going to get some more this morning, but it is raining. We need the rain so I am not complaining. We are supposed to have some nice temps. this coming week. I am so far ahead I don't know what year this wood is for anymore. I will rough stack it on pallets by the barn for now and split it this fall and winter.
Looks like ya got some good work ahead of ya. At least they're a good size and not too big. Man seeing your yota makes me wish i never sold mine. Looked just like yours, minus the flat bed
Ooooo, wish mine had a solid front axle! Never would have gotten rid of that. Same style rims, got mine off CL for $80.
85 fuel injected, straight axle, 5" spring lift. I kick myself all the time for selling it . That little truck would go almost anywhere and i didnt mind bustin brush with it. Had lots of custom pin striping
Exactly why I bought and built up mine instead of buying a UTV. Oh and even with the new engine I still only have about 1/3 of the cost of a UTV in the yota.
Got a couple more loads out of the woods. Funny how quick oak will stain in the presence of metal. I sharpened my chain on the top of the stump yesterday and it was already nice and purple today. Hard to cut such a pretty log up for firewood. Load 1 Load 2
