Actually hoard again. Mound of elm right down the street from me that i didnt want. Mentioned it to him and with hydro he'll be able to split it. Been there since the Summer. First two pics from August. Wood had since been pushed down an embankment. Just vines and no prickers made retrieval a little easier. Been waiting for snow to melt and mud to subside to hit it. A few trees worth. Staged some wood near the trucks and bucked there too. Neither of us wanted the nuggets so in the The Wood Wolverine's honor we composted them! Good little haul. His yard is muddy yet otherwise we wouldve filled my PU too. Another trip planned. For those that dont know buzz-saw joined FHC without knowing my user name and just by coincidence we live two minutes apart!
Good times today buddy!! Great to work with you and really appreciate your help. One thing I learned today.... I am out of shape , you wore me out. I really enjoyed working with you and can't wait for the next one. You are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to wood. My poor trailer had it's tongue hanging out like never before , wouldn't want to go much farther with that size load. Thanks again for the fun and all your help!!! Great to be outside.
I took two barkless smalls to try and hand split. Heres the results. A good swing into one and opened it up. A few more with axe getting stuck. Success. Ill NEVER take the stuff again.
Will do wood wolverine . Hey Brad ; do you do photoshop? Empty cups and beer bottles , ( shaking my head ) why do people have to be such pigs ?? Can you insert some spring flowers in their place?
I didnt see that until i posted and said the same. You should see what i find while roadside scrounging.
A little late for that! You’ve got a whole trailer load of fun awaiting you Hey, if it gives you too much grief just stack the rounds off to the side for a couple years and attempt again later. You cut metal for a living, right? This is no worse than cutting Inconel with high speed steel tooling
Well if that's not encouraging then what is ? This is no worse than cutting Inconel with high speed steel tooling With the spindle turning the wrong direction?
Was talking with my dad on the way to the wood lot today. He was telling me one time he tried to split sycamore with a wedge and sledge. The round completely absorbed the wedge without a hint of cracking. He knew after that he wouldn't be getting more.
Oh come on buZZsaw BRAD! You can sell that for more money, cause it's got the kindling built right in!
No mystery wood there! Looks like you guys had a great day Nice to have the hydros for elm. Your day is coming brad! Sounds like Firewood Bandit may have one for a good deal with the recent arrival of “the kraken”
