He is super quick, he got the second load before you got the 1st... Awesome work, my friend. You will have to remember when to stop when you put the bags on it... Remember I bent the chassis on our truck after install and a very tongue heavy dump trailer load. Its fixed now, though. Reinforced the chassis.
Wow! I guess I will That’s a lot of force! I’ll bet that was a surprise when you got to your destination and noticed that!
Got the rest of what I had cut today. Then I stacked what I split with the new fiskars the other day. Ended up being a little over 2 face cord stacked. Another nice day to be outside! Saw two toms all strutted out with their hens on my way out. Didn’t get the pic before they let their fans down. Tis the season!
Had some stuff to do this morning so didnt get out till almost noon, but was able to get this elm down and broke up for two loads plus A couple little piles pictured. Phone misbehaving in the cold so couldn’t get pic of first load. Nasty stringy stuff, and doesnt even cut that great. I know it won’t split good, but it’ll sure burn good! Getting cold again and pretty windy too. Can’t complain! We’ve had some beautiful weather lately. Front coming in tonight, so we’ll see what it leaves
Is it my imagination of every new load pic you post the PU seems closer to the ground? Do you try to outdo yourself with each successive load? another nice load of wood BTW!
I thought nobody would ever say anything! Finally! Not really JK! This stuff was super heavy and of course, the last red oak I cut was really heavy. I don’t feel that volume wise I’m loading any more. So, either I’m just into some heavy stuff, or as was mentioned recently, the truck has a hernia, and it’s only getting worse! Tomorrow’s first tree is a cherry, so we’ll see how it compares. All the sugar maples are tapped and flowing around here, so it would make sense that all the trees are a bit on the wet end
Don't blame that on errands......you were just What we gonna do with you, just burning daylight...... Excellent work my friend. ...Yep, that elm is heavy too. Lots of water coming up in the trees now. That truck will like the air bags, just watch your tires then.
I spotted a small pile of oak close to my job on the way to work tonight. Limbs that had finally been cut up. Grabbed it then, supposed to be raining in the morning. We will add it to one of the bins...
Caught me on the job again! Back to work tomorrow night for three so tryin to make hay while I can. Figure if I can cut at least four loads worth tomorrow, then I can at least haul a load out each of the days I am working. I’m excited for the airbags. Gonna be so nice!
Looks pretty fresh too. Makin the most of that drive to work I can do that stuff on my way to work but when I get out in the morning, it’s pedal to the metal Home and to bed
I spied some primo straight grain big Ash rounds on the ground Saturday while driving the better half around ~ 10 miles from home. Went by the house Sunday and knocked - no answer (**%#%£¥*)! Drove by tonight after work and got permission to take all I wanted. It was already bucked to 18” rounds. I had to cut most in half as they were too big to get in the pickup bed alone. To be honest, I overfilled the truck. I climbed in to drive home and the battery was dead - sigh. Luckily the wife was home, had her bring my jumper battery. Man was it was cold sitting in the truck waiting. I’ll mix this 50/50 with some Silver Maple and it’ll get burned 4 winters from now. Anyways - pics of it didn’t happen...
Limbs have been down a couple months, I think it was cut up today, that lot was mowed today. I don't normally go to bed until 12:30-1:00pm. I did doze in my chair this morning, dark when I get off now...... But will be light in the evening now...
I'm gonna share a little humor on your thread. I found this guy on YouTube... He is a nut...right about the summer... Well 75° to my northern friends
