I think they're for a different style bar and chain. Don't recall what it is, offhand. Don't recall the exact story, but it seems like someone came up with an interesting idea and it got destroyed by Chinese junk rip-off, maybe? Edit: Found the url. What is PowerSharp® ?
Come to think, the image you put in there has no brand name, so I bet it's the cheap knock off. The real one would be branded and look like this. It seems like it was an interesting idea, but whomever made the knock-off had adds everywhere online for a few months, and the knock-off ruined the reputation of the real thing? Someone may correct me, but it was just a story that I read in passing, and don't fully recall.
Yep, Oregon Power Sharp. Worked pretty well actually. It's a special chain that is sharpened along the top of the cutter. Not really new idea either, some Craftsman saws had that type chain and a stone in the bar/chain cover. Probably saw those back in the 1980's. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
Hahaha. They come as a kit. Sharpener and chain. Bar maybe also, can’t recall. Saw them at my local small engin shop and laughed. Do they work? Maybe, never tried one. Do they work as well as a normal chain properly sharpened? I doubt it. Good for homeowners maybe.
These sharpeners ONLY work on the dedicated chain they (should) come with. My wife bought one for me (bless her heart). They sharpen only the top edge of the chain, which on a normal chain isn't the cutting edge. Old fashioned file works fine for me.
