Used the same chain for all cuts. The huge log was sunk into the ground a few inches and getting some rounds fully cut I had to carefully sneak low enough to get through, sometimes hitting... dirt. The wood was clean, I don’t think any of us hit any embedded metal when sawing it up, at least I didn’t.
I nicked some dirt today myself. It doesnt take much. I feel for you as that long chain must take hours to sharpen...especially square grind.
First loads out. Ash on the ground is from cleaning up the driveway where the remnants of the elephant reside.
Sorry it's taken me more than a year to finish one tree and updated are few and far between. Added a new tool to the arsenal. My brother picked this up free with a dead Briggs on it. We slapped a predator motor I've had sitting around for a few years on it and it works like a charm. Took it for a test drive today. It's nice for the big stuff. But the Fisker's is still quicker in the small stuff. Got some funny looks going down the raod. Someday I'll finish this tree up.
Good deal on that splitter, they do work nice on big stuff or knotty/twisted pieces. Looks good going down the road.
