Surprised they would allow equipment on the public land! How much do you estimate you hauled out of there?

Speaking of EAB, I need to drop a few ash trees next to my back yard before the ground thaws.

I was surprised they let the skid steer in there also. I would estimate that by the time I split it up I have between 2 - 2-1/2 cord. Hopefully I am estimating low & get 3 but I am just not seeing it.

Yes, they have several Oaks & a couple more Ash marked to be taken down.
2 blue dots = needs trimmed
blue X = needs taken down

Hopefully they will take them down in the next week.

I did find a couple Oaks today that hadn’t been scrounged. Some of it was sketchy but some of it was pretty good.

First find of the year. Some honey locust sitting on the street side. Not allot but worth the stop.

Got that red oak in. Was only a 30 yard bin and not all oak, but all usable.

Splitting got put on the back burner today as the State Park whacked some more trees down.
My niece & I got a nice load of Hickory this morning. The center of the main fork has some rot but rest was solid

Cut up 2 loads of oak today. Only got one loaded. I can not lift the rounds that are 20" diameter and 18" long into the truck. I cheat a bit and stack different height chunks of wood to make a ramp/staircase. Wood is just too heavy to load without splitting.

The 026 with the 18" bar cut it all. It would have cut faster with a bigger saw but I didn't have one with me. The first pic is at first refuel and chain sharpening. Cut that big log up another 12 feet and 8 foot offa 12" diameter log.

That’s why we halved & quarter some of ours. My niece couldn’t halve them with the Fiskars but did well quartering them up.
