I get a text from a wood customer back in January who's a cop in the next town over from me. He was directing traffic for the tree guys. Whole bunch of Asplundh cutting. I checked it out at the time but work and other scores had priority. Snow cover most of February so been wanting to get there. Took a ride yesterday (ten minutes from home) and a twin ash had been taken down that wasnt there before. Homeowner in the yard so i stopped and got the okay to park and cut. Cant remember the last ash score i had so made my way there today. Some primo wood that i wasnt gonna lose. IMG_4238.JPG IMG_4237.JPG IMG_4241.JPG IMG_4242.JPG Gave the 028 some cutting fun. 361 was the relief pitcher. IMG_4244.JPG IMG_4245.JPG Homeowner wanted some wood and i had no room for the nuggets. Bark was loose on some. IMG_4243.JPG
    unloaded at storage IMG_4246.JPG
More wood in the area and will hit it again soon!

That will be able to be turned around in a year maybe less for quick profit.

Hard to beat a nice piece of ash! Doesn’t look like the eab had gotten to to it too bad either. Love burning that stuff! This for your personal stash or going to sell? Looks like it dried up enough to get back to the wood yard too! Nice:yes:

Probably sell! A lot of it had tight bark. The bigger trunk the bark came off fairly easy.
Stored in the front yard. Ill split it in front and move to back stacking when its dry enough to get in there.
Pic from yesterday. Ill get the load(s) from tomorrow into the backyard as the ground will freeze up, but wont get way in back. IMG_4223.JPG

Awesome! Ash is my absolute favorite. That's some primo stuff. I'd sell some other stuff and burn the Ash for myself:wacky:

I got some tonight too :smoke:
Started cutting some of the down trees in the woods at work...cut up 3 Ash and 1 Cherry...just stacked in the woods for now...a lot of the Ash is already barkless :) probably a little better than a cord in total. Was pretty much dark when I quit...will get pics tomorrow. Speaking of...you must have a different camera...pics are much clearer now... :ithappened:

Oh boy.... I'm watching for the "Ash Mania" thread.

Nice load. That could be good to burn, this coming fall.

Not that much of quality around. I know 2-3 spots i could cut some, but roadside and vine covered, and tougher to get. If i have to go through that much trouble id just assume get BL!

This is some of the Cherry...

This woods is only 5 acres or so, but it has single-handedly kept me in wood for the last number of years now...pretty much since EAB...there is some Oak and Maple down right now too...and plenty more Ash! So much so that the stuff that is off the ground I have been leaving for later, just cutting the stuff that is on the ground right now.

Chipmunks are natures hoarders. We have them at the feeder and they will stuff their cheeks full of sunflower seeds. Looks like they have the mumps really bad!

Hell, Brad, I'm in the epicenter of EAB and I'm still running into some decent ash. There's a couple laying under some rotten oak tops that are a lot better than the oak on top.
