Good afternoon all. Started at 14 made it up to 20 with clear blue skies. Did have a dusting of snow over nite.
We have been having trouble getting to the 3 year plan. Sooooooo
Been talking on an off of a pole barn. Chaz talked to a coworker who drives the Amish here an there. Had them give us a rough quote. Will be 40' long. Not exactly sure how wide or how tall.. Will have a 13' wide center isle running the entire 40 length with 5 bays on each side. Will have at least some designated storage for tractor, lawn mower, ATVs ect.
Will have the splitter set up in the middle. Will be able to be out of the sun, rain, snow. Will be wide enough to have an atv with cart attached be able to park right next to the splitter to throw the splits in. Then drive to stacking area. All sides will be open at this time.
Have a call into the building inspector see if we need permit. No cement floor, will put pallets down. Down the road probably run electric.
Once the weather gets nice enough, we will get the Amish out to make sure they are thinking as we are and get a final quote.
We have also ordered a tri-axel load of hardwood. No oak. To be delivered mid May. Where they are going to put it needs some serious cleanup. Get that cleaned sooner, then we can call them up for sooner delivery.
    Have a great day.
    Stay healthy and stay safe.

Edit: Forgot to mention. When he bucks the wood, he will stage that in the barn for fall winter s,/s. I will be doing my s/s during the day.

One o the BEST things I ever did was put a concrete floor in may barn (more than 20 years after I built it!). However it all depends on what you want to do with it. Good luck on your project!

We will at some point I am sure. Talked about gravel. Decided that would be a mess to clean.

No playing outside this morning. Very windy and good rain coming. Sounds like a good morning to go to breakfast. Gonna start the generator and let it run for an hour. I do this once a month. The generator sits in the shed where it’s 4,000,000 degrees. This breaks down gasoline quickly even though i use ethanol free stuff. I’ll clean the house while this goes on...

Good morning everyone! I'm starting to see the bottom of the woodpile in the basement. A few days in the 50's are coming next week. Spring fever has taken hold! Maybe a crocus or two will pop up next week.
Today I'll pick up all the pine branches that the wind took down, and fix all the tarps that got blown askew. Some errands too. It'll be a good day, lots of stuff to do. kHajuSY.jpg
    Have a great Wednesday!

Good morning and happy hump day! Frost free morning and going up to 56* today. Grabbed more pallets last night, fed birds and found 2 of my feeders had rusted through the bottom and then cut lumber for tonight's project. The plan after work is to prep 2 more IBC totes for firewood and then assemble a stand for my gas caddy. The purpose of a caddy is to be mobile. However, the height of the nozzle is lower than the gas tank on anything I own so it's totally ineffective. I'm raising it 2' off the ground and placing it next to the OH door on my barn so I can fill everything on the way out. We'll see how it goes.

GOOD MORNING Y'ALL. Yep, I got slack again and didn't check on my friends like I should. Hope y'all have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY. I'm working 7AM-7PM shift this week and got busy as soon as I got here. Cold rainy night and early this morning. About 40°. Still waiting on my part to come in for the tractor to use the grapple.
Jill, that is great news on the barn. Remember to take plenty of :ithappened:...

Good afternoon all . Jeff, Probably will start a thread. We will be having the Amish do the build. Chaz just has to much on his plate for him to even think about doing it.

There i was, minding my own business.... when suddenly, I was wide awake. Tossed and turned for a bit before getting up. ~sigh~ I even got here before Brandon.

Good morning, everyone. It's a bit early for even coffee.

The house is warm. Stayed above freezing overnight.

I think I'll watch the woodstove TV for a bit. Maybe it'll make my eyes tired.

    Stay safe
    Stay healthy
