Welcome to the FHC coontz74 :handshake: Great to have you!

Ask T.Jeff Veal as he bought a 461 recently and he is in Georgia. 461's are no longer made but many dealers still have or can still get them.

Thanks for the welcome....I’ll shoot him a PM and see what he says. I’ve called, messaged and called some more and all I get is “You know these are discontinued don’t you”...

I’m about a month out from buying as I’m hoping our work bonus comes thru, but would like to locate a “GOOD” dealer.[/QUOTE]

Thanks Chud....I’ve sent T Jeff Veal a PM and will see what he comes back with. I’m definitely “jumping the gun” so to speak as I’m waiting on my work bonus to finish off my saw fund...:picard:

You will love it with 25" bar. I have that setup now for noodling some huge knotty oak.
For felling and bucking, I run 28 or 32" bars on it. 0717201105.jpg 6023.jpeg

Order you a dual port muffler and max flow air filter from eBay for it. Will really wake it up.

Send that MS362 to huskihl and let him put some xtra sausage (XS) in it. He did ours. I also added the Pro Safety dogs to it. I re-gound them, made them a little shorter. IMG_20190705_213058577.jpg IMG_20190705_213022584.jpg

Thank you for the welcome. I’ve cut firewood for a while with my MS362 but was hoping to add another this year at bonus time. Actually want two....

A MS261 and MS461 to join the 362. Figured I’d better get the 461 first as dealers around here still have the 261’s but they just look at me crazy when I mention a 461.

I’ve really enjoyed reading up here and seeing everyone’s pictures. Hope to contribute along the way but have a lot to learn from all you guys...

    I run a 261, 361, and 460 and a great trio. The latter two precursors to the 362 & 461.
One word of warning, which i think may be too late for you, is to beware of CAD (Chainsaw Acquisition Disorder) which is highly contagious when you join FHC. I had three saws two years ago when i joined and now have a dozen! :loco:
Let us know how you make out. :saw:

My 361 was ported by Tree Monkey, a.k.a. Scott Kunz. He's awesome. This is my actual saw.

I have the same 5 point felling dogs on my 362. I really like them. I went the 4 point dogs on the 461, as I liked the look of them better on the 461, and so far they are working good, also.

Great video Mike. I could watch that all day! Is that a 16 or 18" bar? Ive been running an 18" on my 361 and really like it vs. the longer bar.

That's one reason I went ahead and bought my 461, recently. I wanted to get one, while they were still available, new, and they only had the one, left.

Funny thing is my local dealer has several 500i’s but nothing in between that and a 261. I’m really wanting the 461 and will only have the funds for one at the moment but the 261 will come along soon I hope.

    The CAD is real.....:hair:

That’s the position I’m in right now....I bought my 362 used and the farm boss before that used as well....I’ve always wanted to buy one new and will finally have my chance here in a few weeks....

My buddy is a Husqvarna guy and trying to lean me into a 372XP or 365. Not saying they are bad saws but have had good luck with my Stihl’s and I tend to resist change.

    I’m excited for sure.........:D

Same here. Got my first in 1985 when i was 17 right after hurricane Glorias had hit here. I was running a little rinky dink homelite and my uncle bought me a brand new 028. They have served me very well.
