Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a FABULOUS FRIDAY. It's my weekend OFF... Going out with our friends, Voyne and Claire, to celebrate their birthdays this week. He asked if I could make something like this...
Birdfeeder for woodpeckers. I think I have some cedar limbs I can use. That should be some nice birthday presents.
Then tomorrow I'm taking Miz Carol to a Big Daddy Weave concert. Told her about it on her birthday. Might get to 70° today, 49° and cloudy now. Better go find some more and fix some... Daytime is passing by.

Morning All. Yesterday was really ugly weather wise so we got a lot of watching curling in. Today started off wet but I think it is clearing. I hope so as I have to head up to the church to finish the Children Sabbath packages. It does sound windy out there though.

Happy Friday! I took the day off to burn up some PTO since I haven't taken a vacation in a long time (thanks COVID). OJ was good with an egg and sausage. I headed out to the barn to work on some projects and determined the ground was solid enough to get into the wood yard.

I cut part of the face off an IBC tote and moved it next to my stack of rounds. Then fired up the splitter and backed up to the tote. I really like loading straight into the totes instead of picking splits up off the ground. The results:

Good afternoon all. Chaz is on his 4 day weekend. Cloudy and 37. We have rain coming in Saturday and Sunday. So I am guessing that by Monday it will be all gone.
Deer came to visit 3 times yesterday.

All looked nice and healthy.

 

No bath. They just don't get far off the driveway. Speed limit is 25 in the wood yard. Gotta keep everyone safe!

Good morning, all.

Low 30's to start, with the full moon showing through thin cloud cover.

A rainy day is forecasted for today. That'll help to keep shrinking the snowpack.

I bought a rotisserie chicken yesterday. Removed the meat. I'll be boiling the carcass to make stock. Remove bones and reduce the broth. I'll make a roux to thicken the broth. The chicken meat will be added to the sauce/gravy. With some sauted onion and celery. I'll smash up some boiled potatoes. The chicken can then be spooned over the taters. With some steamed broccoli. That should make for a nice late afternoon comfort meal after a cool, raw day.

I'm sure there'll be a nap along the way.

Good morning everyone! Snowing here now, but will switch to rain. My backyard is almost snow-free! I split a few big oak rounds yesterday, slowly shrinking the big pile on the patio.
I found some more shelled peanuts for the squirrels. The front step is their feeding station. If they run out, they sit in the bush outside the picture window and swish their tails at me. It's how I keep them from digging up my bulbs. I probably spend more on peanuts than I do on bulbs.
We'll try and brush some fur off the cat, she's starting to shed her winter coat. Long-haired cat. It's a two-person job.
Exciting times, huh?

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a SUPER SATURDAY. 47° outside, heading to 80°......going to clean up around the woodyard this morning, then going to a concert this evening, dinner first with my hunny.
Got the bird feeders made yesterday. Used some pieces of cedar limbs. Take suet and pack in the holes...
My friend really liked them.
This is the day the LORD has made. I will REJOICE and be GLAD.
