Does anyone stack loaded Ibc totes. I know they can be stacked before we cut out the top and bladders. But what about after?
I've never stacked mine, but I've seen quite a few people who do stack them. I think how much of the cage you cut out will make stacking them safer. I always leave the two bars and cut out a square, not a U shape. Makes it harder to get wood in them, but they stay stronger and more stable. I do plan to start stacking them 2 high this year as the Kioti will easily lift the totes to that height.
I’ve stacked some, the one thing I noticed is not all of them are made the same. Different manufacturers make the tops a little different so they don’t stack well.
I used to use these before totes, two sizes, as well as a couple bigger post office crates. As well as some flimsier ones as well, which I lucked out when at the scrap yard a guy had a half dozen in his truck which I bought for $25 CDN and then he brought another dozen. Great score for starting off the business. Then I set up the 10 bush cord 14 ft high ready rack shelf to use air space as I was running out of ground space. I sold some of them but I still use them for my own wood at my shop for the stove and three at the wood yard for my apple, cherry and red oak smoker chunks
