ole, so sorry for your loss.

This winter and 2020 has been tough for many people in a lot of ways. It's pretty much December 87th today. Maybe it will be 2021 in March?

I had to be with my mom when she went to the dentist. The nursing home provided the transportation for her. I had to be in the room with my mom to help her hold her head upright so they could clean her teeth. They are able to do the work on her while she is in a wheel chair. She is 99 years young and a 60+ year cancer survivor.
Dropped off materials to get my taxes done and a couple shopping stops on the way home. Looking forward to getting rid of the snow and mud so I can get into the woods to start cutting wood.

You’re a good son to be with your mom. She’s definitely a survivor.

Today was a mix of outdoor and indoor chores. I went out late morning and through down fifty pounds or rock salt on our skating rink of a driveway between house and barn. The temp was nice and the sun was hitting it pretty good and I wanted to get this stuff broken up or at least roughed up. Then I went to work on the ice behind the barn. Used the L39’s backhoe and busted the ice up gooder! Then cleared it all out of the way. Much better for the horses now. After a break it was time to go to work on the driveway. Driving back and forth over it with the ice chains helped soften it up a little. Then I went to scraping it up with the front bucket. Whatever was still tough enough got a good back dragging to bust it up. All ice now gone. :) Suppose to hit 40s on Saturday and Sunday. That should continue the melt down of the snow banks. :binoculars:Looking ahead at the forecast, maybe we have past the coldest part of the winter. Shhhhh:zip:

A good thought from a friend...

Good luck finding any LED's lights made outside of China. Most of the machines that were developed to manufacture the sapphire substrates required for LED light creation were sold to China. Not saying there aren't any made in the USA or other countries, just that China saw the LED market for everything coming up in the early 2000's and bought a massive amount of machines. Then of course, they reverse engineered the machines so they didn't have to buy them from the USA.

Have a plumber coming out today as we've been having some odd plumbing issues lately, banging pipes, dishwasher will leak at odd times and other valves that I have replaced lately. Then, yesterday morning woke up to the water heater leaking and the pipes looking like this. I was suspecting the pressure regulator for a couple of weeks so picked up a gage yesterday while working at a Menards. I think 110PSI is a little on the high side.
Inlet shut off on the water heater and it stopped leaking. Not sure the plumber will have time for the WH due to it not on the original work order, but we will see.

Yep, that’s high. We had 120PSI and only found out after we blew two electric water heaters one oil fired water heater, ice maker and plenty of outdoor hoses over the years. When we had the second oil fired water heater installed, the technician thought something was wrong and he tested the wate pressure. It was 120PSI and he told us to call the town, which supplies our municipal water. They came and said the pressure regulator was never installed when they put the water meter in. They used a LW bid contractor and he left the, off of many of the homes in the district. So, they came back right away and installed the regulator. They put the pressure so low it was a joke, so I had to up it. Can’t remember now, but I think I set it at 60psi.

I am not a plumber....... but........ At 110 psi, it's self explanatory about the leaks and water hammer (pipes banging) happening. If you do not have a water pressure regulator to adjust, I'll bet you'll soon have one installed! If you do have a water pressure regulator, its an easy fix!

Someone with poor common sense left this lift for me to use yesterday to do an open stage roof inspection.

Bit rusty running one so I'm sure I looked like a drunken sailor driving it. :)

At least I didn't drive it off the edge of the stage!

I hope you are on city water...dunno if most well pumps would even be capable of pressures like that...although it would be impressive if so!
If you are on city water call them to come service their regulator, you surely have one...if you are on a well, you need a new pressure switch!

I hate mudding drywall. A lot. Got 3/4 of the taping done last night before I ran out of patience.
