Way better off doing as much as you can right now, before bugs and spring/summer projects start up! :handshake:

Some burners never figure that out. :picard:

You got that right! Winter is about the only time I have to do wood, once the frost comes out of the ground and the weather gets nice I have no time, 12 to 16+ hour work days, plus everything at home and I have a lot of spring projects to do right away this year.
I only average 4-5 hours of sleep a night and there's still not enough time in a day!

Back down to 20F after a beautiful day in the 40s yesterday. Wood Gun is still warm enough from the load of Cherry, Ash, and Beech I put in last night.

Yes, I had to check to see why it was so bright outside.

Dropped to 13 overnight and dropped another inch of snow for good measure, I guess.

Low of 14. Hopefully we won't see too many more below 20.

Yesterday it soared to 47 by 10:00 then the temp fell all day. There was still good melying happening.

As expected, our snow is going fast. Just about all the snow we got was light and fluffy so not much moisture. That makes it melt faster. Just the last of it will be packed and will take longer to melt.

But the forecast sounds really good with lots of 40's to come. Maybe we will see bare ground before long. We already have circles around many of the trees. I suspect if maples have not been tapped yet they will be super busy now.

Till about 1:30 yesterday we had full sun. Got up to 50* . Today we have sun only going to mid 30s which is fine. Sloow it down for a few minutes. Nobody needs flooding.

With the temps being in the upper 30's to low 40's, I have gotten a fire going when I get up and I may add more wood once before letting it die. It has been a couple months since I used a firestarter. Open the drapes and let the sun help warm the house.

We made it but it was pretty rough for down here. Ice covered roads and power out for 3 days. I know one thing I won’t go through another winter without another wood stove. This fireplace won’t cut it!

43 & sun yesterday, 42 & sun today! Beginning to think this ain't MI anymore lol. It got "down" to 18 overnight with no wind & that even felt nice. The bright "snow" moon was beautiful. Been burning whatever "stuff" I've had laying around from splitting. Chunks & uglies of Oak, Poplar, Elm, Maple, & a little Walnut. Temps forecast to be close to 50 Sunday. The Maple Syrup folks are gonna be busy.

We were warmer than you yesterday but you beat us today. Still some really nice weather.

I've been trying to contact the land owner about us cutting over across the road but having a hard time reaching him. Are you up to any skidding? But if the frost goes out we may be forced to wait.

We might have a low of 6 degrees tomorrow morning, we have some Ironwood burning down in the wood stove and the pellet stove will be going later tonight.

I'll have to clean some of the ashes out of the wood stove tomorrow morning.

12 degrees this morning. Just put some Ash rounds and small Cherry splits in the Wood Gun.
