Had mine done Monday. If you supply the oil they will still change it for you. I go to VIOC in Wallingford

I have been going to the quick lube by Big Y here in town.
With the coupon it is $22.99 for oil and filter change , comes with a free car-wash also. Not a bad deal and I have had good luck in the past.
To but oil and filter in the store isn't far off from that price and this way I don't have to deal with the mess and labor involved doing it myself.

Going to get a new set of sneakers for it today as well. Long overdue on doing that , Probably more tread on the inside of the tires now than what is on the outside. Definitely got my mileage out of this set.

I use full synthetic in truck so more expensive. She goes to the same place with coupon and gets the free car wash. I wonder if my PU could get the car wash even with the racks? Be an interesting sight.

I have done both full synthetic and conventional oil , I just be sure to keep up on changing it at the 3000 mile mark and never had any oil related issues.

If you are going to run your truck through the car wash two things.
#1 - be sure to clean-out all the Black Locust bark out of the bed
#2 - ( and you are good at this ) Take pictures ! I am sure everyone here would like to see it go through with the rack. Probably drive out the other side with the rack still attached and a couple of their brushes hanging off it.

Crappie eat live fishes. And yes I’m nuts. I found 1.5 pounds of minnows in Frostproof this morning. All my friends were real happy when I showed up at the campfire. A friend had some nieces and nephews in town that got to go fish since I found them. They caught a bunch of fish.

Good afternoon everybody. Started out at 25* and currently 45*. Stepped outside for a quick look at the roof. Boy is that going to be loud when it lets loose. There is a layer of ice about 3" thick with a couple inches of snow. The corner of the house, same corner where the stove is, is about 5". Up until just a little bit ago it was clear blue sky. Now overcast. Can see the water running on the corner of the porch.
    Stay safe and stay healthy.

Glad you found some. We hoard wood, you hoard fish. Glad the kids got to go fishing.

I had a lucky break today. I was walking to the bagel store, and a bunch of ice slid off a 4 story roof and landed a step in front of me. It would have knocked me silly.

What do you pay for a pound of minnows?

Do you hook the minnows through the lips, or just under the dorsal fin?

Roughly how many are in a pound? They charge 50 cents a piece for large minnows around here.

I have always hooked them under the dorsal. Some lip hook them. I do it that way because grandma did. I am convinced that when they are dorsal hooked they struggle more and swim up against the weight of the split shots creating more strikes. Hooey? Perhaps.

We use medium sized minnows. I’d say there are 300 in a pound. When you use big minnows on crappie hooks the body of the minnow takes up too much of the gap on the hook and you miss a lot of fish. The smaller minnows are mashed by the crappie’s mouth and the hook is really exposed.

Yeah, I realize that, have had it happened many times. I looked into ordering bulk from a farm in Arkansas but I don’t have a spot to hold them that is cool enough but won’t freeze.
