Nicely done and pretty impressive keeping the house that warm. Does your home have insulation?

No sneering here, you did good, we are use to cold bad weather up here so being prepared is a way of life. I am sure Texas will come out of this mess stronger then before.

They better. 10-11 years ago there was a decent blip with weather that caused power outages near Dallas. They didn't use that as a warning, and you get what just happened.

Great job and Great to hear.............................BUT........................Unfortunately this could happen a dozen or more so times in Texas and people will still not get it..Proof.......Look at the same people over and over and over again in Louisiana after hurricane after hurricane destroys their lives and property and yet still they don't prepare at all...Sad reality

Yeah a payment plan will make everything better.:loco:

At least with your hanging analogy, the pain would be over quickly. :eek:A payment plan on a 10-17k electric bill is like buying a new motorcycle, tractor, or ATV. Except unlike those similar expenses, YOU get ridden by the power bill.:faint:

At the risk of turning this thing political, I will say that this disaster will add fuel to the debate over whether public utilities should be in the hands of private for profit companies or...these companies behaved badly and now we the taxpayers and home owners insurance consumers get to bail them out.

Told my wife the same thing! Why even bother sending a bill out for that much, if they even are:whistle: As if people are going to even pay them:rofl:  So what happens to the price if people were to actually pay their bills? ..... Boy Betty, that was a rough month. I sure hope next monthS bill is better! You could get a wood burner, a generator, and quite a bit of gas for 10k! I’m sure there are a lot of people struggling down there, and We have family and friends there too. I’m not trying to minimize their struggle in any way, but some of the news headlines are pretty entertaining compared to what we’ve been hearing from family and friends.
