Anyone deal with a Jotul intake gadget jambing up. It's not all the way, just in spots.
When we got the stove, used, I blew out the intake with compressed air....getting lotsa fine particles out. it operated fine for a month or so but from time to time, jambs up when trying to fully close. If I work it, it will go over almost like there's something in there.

I imagine I'll rip it apart come spring. But till then, anyone deal with?

    Thanks,
    Sca.

If it is like the Jotul F 400, there is a cover with two screws just inside the door in the firebox. Remove the screws pop the cover and take a look. Could be a buildup of charcoal in the slide area. Ash falls into the cover holes. Just part of stove maintenance.

    Thanks for that.
I saw that, and have been trying to shove coals away from that, rather than piling them up on it.
I was tinkering with running a little compressed air into the intake from the outside, with the door closed and a fire drafting. Might clean that right out till its cool enough to take apart. That'd be a hot mess.....fly ash all over.

I solved this problem with the 500. I got rid of it. I could never understand why the air intake is located where ashes would build up. Made no sense.

I think the ashes get sucked in from the outside...on top of the removable tray at the front.
I'll know better when I take it apart.
