18F here, supposed to drop just a bit. Got about an inch of fluff today. Got the splitter unburied & moved, tractors fired up & ready for some processing tomorrow. Elm in the boiler.
Hoping for at least one pickup load in the morning myself! 15 here and just loaded the furnace with some more red oak. Also threw a few chunks in the stove tonight for a relatively short burn and something to sit in front of Hope you have a productive day in the woods tomorrow
Another mild night at 28, with a low of 21 predicted for sunrise. The stove is loaded up for the night with some nice dry chunks of red oak.
15 and falling atm with 30 mph wind 2 inches of compacted ice and snow and just began to snow again and burning a descent knotty beech and red oak slab
Well, another cold night here. I guess those forecasters haven't figured out that when it's clear out, the temps have that slight tendency to plummet!! Maybe they should have spent less time in classrooms looking at computers and more time outside! It's -19 right now and there's a little room left...........
And he hopes he never has to do it again! Snow doesn't bother me much but as I age the cold isn't so kind any more.
I am going through the exact same process! But, you have a bit more ......... "experience" than I! How was that?
15, didn't see singles as predicted, might have to open the pool..... Just loaded some sugar and oak, supposed to be in the 20s today. 70 and the ng boiler has the registers warm through out the house.
Yesterday finally hit the freezing mark... 21F here now... 38 expected today... But got the stove loaded with silver maple...
20 and there's a bright, yellow circle in the sky. Not sure what it is. Been burning a mix of chuglies of late. Getting stove back to temp.
