Im about to post facts and I hope it’s not deleted or “cleaned up” for being political.

People elected a president beholden to the fringe left and anti fossil fuel kooks.........you’re damm right gas will be $4 a gallon and heating oil and natural gas will be more than double

And I simply can’t wait to sit back and watch it happen to all those that voted for it!

This site has thrived in large part due to a moratorium on political discussion be it divisive or not. You can think whatever you want. You just can’t post something that will lead to or add to a death spiral of interactions. This site has helped people seeking knowledge on heating with wood for 7+ years now. In a time when MORE people are likely to come here for answers because of rising fuel prices and a desire for independence, let’s not let our discussions drive these people or the people with the wealth of knowledge answering their questions away. Moderating do you have anything to add?

You cannot talk about rising fuel prices and not bring up politics. Sorry it’s impossible

While I think that we may be very much in agreement on why costs for fuel as well as many other goods & services are rising for our country, we can & do discuss these issues, & more importantly alternatives to them without getting into politically charged flame wars. It can be done & your knowledge & experience is a very welcome addition to these discussions. There are plenty of places to discuss politics etc. all over the web.

Politics in the wood pile? Yeah, you guys are probably right. Maybe not the best place. People seeking out the knowledge and community the club is known for aren’t wanting to tiptoe through the minefield, and I may be guilty of pushing the envelope from time to time myself. Maybe “everything else” would be a better place for the more “politically charged” conversations. I trust the moderators judgement, but I think the knowledge our members offer far outweighs any differences of opinion we share. I believe all the contributors to this thread belong here. I can agree to disagree without “censoring” someone. Remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and we only respond to what we choose to.:handshake:

I think “our” job of self moderation is loosening up, a lot. I was just as, if not more, unhappy a few years ago, BUT.. I didn’t complain or comment on FHC. I don’t come here for that, and don’t want to hear your political views. This is a firewood forum. Let’s talk wood and saws and stuff!
Moderating I believe on some sites you can require new posts to be approved before going public. Maybe that’s the direction it’s going here?

Maybe we need a "political" forum, since so many topics tie into politics these days. Instead of so many posts being deleted, and threads locked, it just gets moved to political forum.
It would be "private" you can't even get in to read without signing off that you understand asbestos underwear is advised...don't like what you read there, or knickers get in a twist, stay out of that forum...simple as that.

Sounds "nanny state"...and would take WAY too much time for voluntary mods to read/approve.
