    A little hike into one part of Escalante Canyon on the high desert of Colorado.

    The narrow passage down into the canyon is called "fat man's misery". Yeah, yeah, yeah.... I made it! Slowly, but I made it!

    As you can tell, I like it out west. Can't tell you why I don't live there instead of here, but.....

    The first time I was out west (Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower, Colorado) was in 75 and I fell in love with every thing. One summer alone, (97) I went to Black Hills 3 times! :picard:

    We have vacationed in other locations also (her picks).

    One of them was Washington DC but we never did get there. Recently, we have both decided to not visit DC. Go figure, right? The way things are now, I could drive past any high security prison and get the same enjoyment out of it.....:headbang::headbang::headbang:

    Dad drove us kids to all those places in ‘86. I agree Yoop it is beautiful.. Family is why in on expensive east coast

    DC is a city; museums, tomb of the unknown soldier; Vietnam memorial etc etc.I need to bring my daughter there. I get hyper-vigilant in crowded areas.. Dad relax!!

    Is this the trip a few years ago when you drove through Iowa and claimed to have "honked at me" as you came through?

    Because I've got good ears and still don't think you actually honked.

    I think it was Clear Lake we stayed in? Can't remember for sure. I'll have to think on that on. I remember driving a few blocks to some sort of kids orientated fun center to get a pizza (recommended by hotel) and there was a wal mart not far from that restaurant also. The pizza was good; we go it to go.


    As we are driving along, I sometimes mention that "there is a member that lives around this area" to 99.

    "Oh, you're talking about your wood burning friends?"
