So how tough is your Cell Phone? Well I know my other halfs Iphone 5 just took a direct run over with my 3/4 HD Front tire. She was in a hurry to get in the truck it flew out of her pocket and in the path of the tire. Well granted it was in a gravel drive way. But it came out with only a tire imprint on the back cover. You can just see the tread on the upper left corner.
I have a otterbox cover, not sure of style but it handles most everything I do to it. Actually, I have had the iPhone 4 nearly 2 years now and have replaced the cover 2x already. It does a good job from a contractors standpoint.
I have an iPhone 5 in a LifeProof case and and it has been through a couple wars with me. Kicked, dropped, wet, I work in a very dusty environment, my pocket is pretty much where phones go to die. This phone has been the most rock solid dependable unit I have ever owned.
I have a crappy old trac-phone (one that I have to bring back to the historical society when I'm done using it) that fell into the lake while putting in the dock 7-8 years ago. It was in the water after hitting the rocks for about 3-4 minutes. Dried it out on the dashboard of the car for about a week and been using it ever since!
I had a US-built Motorola for NINE YEARS until the demise of the old analog cell systems forced me to change phones. During that time it had been dropped in the water several times, fell out of my pocket and dropped from 10' of more, was thrown against a wall, laid in my driveway for several days in heavy snow before it was found, etc. Now I'm lucky to get two years out of a phone… smart or dumb.
